GTA 6 preorders opened on June 25, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the US the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99. The Ultimate Edition adds a collection of vehicles, weapons, outfits and other extras tied to Jason and Lucia’s story.

Anything bought before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital preorders come with a free month of GTA+. Digital preloading starts on November 12, 2026, and boxed copies go on sale the same day. The box holds a download code rather than a disc, so you will still need to download the game.

You may have seen headlines about $1 billion in the first hour or tens of millions of copies preordered. Those were outside estimates. Take-Two has not published a preorder figure. On its August 2026 earnings call it described demand as very strong and repeated the November 19 date, but it shared no number.

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the GTA 6 release date as November 19, 2026. This is not a rumor or a leak. The date appears in official trailers, press releases, and across Rockstar's verified marketing channels. The date has moved twice: Rockstar first aimed for fall 2025, then May 26, 2026, and in November 2025 it settled on November 19, 2026.

The November 19, 2026 release puts GTA 6 squarely in the holiday shopping season, the same season Rockstar picked for Red Dead Redemption 2 in October 2018. GTA V, released in September 2013, has now sold more than 230 million copies according to Take-Two.

What makes this release particularly significant is the platform strategy. GTA 6 is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version, and no PC version has been announced.

PC players are asking the same question they ask before every Rockstar release: when do we get ours? The honest answer is that nobody outside Rockstar knows, because no PC version has been announced. What we have is the pattern. Grand Theft Auto V hit consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015, a gap of nineteen months. Red Dead Redemption 2 hit consoles in October 2018 and PC in November 2019, a gap of thirteen months. Apply that range to 19 November 2026 and you land somewhere between late 2027 and early 2028. Treat that as arithmetic, not as news.

Rockstar has not explained its PC plans for GTA 6. Until it does, ignore anyone selling PC keys, beta access or early downloads. None of those exist, and offers like that are scams.

Rockstar has published nothing here, and we are not going to invent it. There are no official GTA 6 PC requirements because there is no announced PC version. What we can give you is the real thing: the specs Rockstar publishes for the titles it already sells on PC.

Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, released in 2025, asks for a Core i7-4770 or FX-9590 with 8GB of memory and a GTX 1630 at minimum, and recommends a Core i5-9600K or Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB and an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT. It needs 105GB and will not install on a mechanical drive. Red Dead Redemption 2, from 2019, asks for 150GB of space and recommends a GTX 1060 with 12GB of memory. Six years moved Rockstar’s floor up roughly two graphics card generations and made solid state storage compulsory.

If you want to prepare, that direction of travel is the only honest guide: 16GB of memory, an SSD with at least 150GB free, and a graphics card at or above the RTX 3060 class. GTA 6 returns to Vice City, Rockstar's fictional version of Miami, but expands far beyond the city limits into Leonida State. Rockstar’s official site shows the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park alongside the city, though it has not said how big the map is. The story follows Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, a couple pulled into crime.

The two trailers show crowded beaches, swamps, highways and nightlife, plus plenty of in game social media clips that parody the real thing. Rockstar has not published a feature list, so anything beyond what the trailers show, including talk of new engines, weather systems or NPC memory, is guesswork for now.

There are two editions. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 in the US, with local prices set by each store. There is no physical collector’s edition, and boxed copies contain a download code. For comparison, GTA V launched at $59.99 in 2013.
